Southampton Village
"My husband and I have known Chris since approximately 2010 when he served as the Project Manager on a very large, complex construction and renovation project at our home in Southampton. Throughout the construction process, Chris proved himself invaluable. No request was too burdensome or too insignificant; simply put, Chris is willing to do whatever needs to be done. He managed the various trades and kept things moving on schedule. He also served as a liaison between other workers performing services at the house, such as landscapers, even though it was not technically part of the job. He could always be counted on to make a knowledgeable recommendation regarding materials, trades, or the best way to approach a project.
In the years since our construction was completed, Chris has assisted us with a wide range of action items around the house and has always made himself available (frequently on short notice) for whatever needed to be done or whatever issue arose.
I have much confidence and complete trust in Chris. He has had keys to our home for several years and has proven himself to be responsible, reliable and diligent.
Chris is committed to his business and his reputation and I think he would be an asset on any construction or renovation project, big or small."

"I am rarely at a loss for words, but I consider it difficult to find sufficient words of praise to describe my gratitude to Chris Gaynor, who has completed a major reconstruction of my house in Southampton. And, I believe that I have the experience and knowledge to be able to judge excellence and reliability as well as honesty and incredible willingness to accommodate and help the client. Here's my experience: I supervised the total remodeling of two Park Avenue apartments (one of seven rooms, the other of 11 rooms) and of one penthouse in the East Sixties. I have also supervised (again as the client) two separate jobs of remodeling (first floor and subsequently the second floor) of a 4-bedroom Southampton house. All the prior jobs did get finished and they all turned out as expected and as I had contracted for them to turn out. However, none of that work with independent and well-recommended contractors came close to the superb experience I had with Chris Gaynor. It has been my practice, when remodeling or rebuilding, to look in on the job, unannounced, once a week. After the first week of working with Chris I was completely convinced that there was absolutely no need for my supervision. His supervision, his caring, his choice of sub-contractors, his relentless shopping for the right and best-priced materials made any supervision on my part totally absurd. Let me summarize: Chris Gaynor is totally honest, completely dedicated, extraordinarily experienced, and one helluva nice guy. I got a lot more than a beautifully restored house, completely on schedule, and exactly within the projected budget: I also found a new friend. We all know how stressful remodeling and/or restoration or rebuilding can be for the home owner. Well, not when it's Chris Gaynor who's doing the job. During a particularly challenging year, both professionally and personally, I found the restoration job to be the one part of my life which was stress-free, thanks to Chris Gaynor."

Chris Gaynor was basically given a jigsaw puzzle of a renovation in my Southampton house. The project brief was to create a finished basement with 2 bedrooms, a master bath, a family room, and a wet bar. My request was that the finished basement feel like the rest of the house. He only told me after the project was finished, when I was completely thrilled, that when he first heard what I wanted to do, he thought “Oh lord!”. All along through the project there were challenges big and small and Chris solved them all; with politeness, ingenuity, and a sense of humor. Not only is he an amazing contractor, he is an incredibly kind human being. When I lit a fire in my fire place and the flue was stuck I used an extinguisher to put it out as the house filled with smoke. I called Chris (Bonus. He’s a volunteer fire fighter in Southampton!) and he came over immediately to make sure my daughters and I were okay and help clean up the mess to boot.
