The Charles T. Dering House in Sag Harbor. Built for Mr. Dering, a prominent whale ship owner and descendant of the Sylvester's of Shelter Island. It was later owned by William Wallace Tooker, the local pharmacist and expert on the Montauket language. The project was to bring the house into this century without damaging the historical features. We even added stairs to the newly habitable third floor that re-created the original stairs built by notable craftsman Nathaniel Dominy IV.
